Hello, I’m Lorraine and this is me with my beautiful boy Digby - it goes without saying that I adore animals and consider myself privileged to do this job. Digby was just a pup when we moved to beautiful Thanet twelve years ago. Taking this self portrait of us together, whilst remotely operating a camera from my iPhone with an over excited Vizsla sniff searching me for treats, was challenging, but I can’t tell you how glad I am now that I made the effort, for just a few months later we lost our precious boy to cancer. Yes, it broke our hearts. Yes, we miss him every second of every day. Yes, I know how very lucky we were to have had him and yes, it seems impossible to bear that I’ll never again have him pinning me to the sofa Vizsla style (ask any Vizsla owner)… but one of my greatest comforts is having this image of him and I together, along with numerous other portraits I’ve taken of him in the studio (he was my champion treat catcher and absolutely loved being my top model!).

My favourite pictures of Digby are now blown up and hang on our walls as beautiful pieces of art, thanks to which, he is rarely out of sight and is still very much part of our family. Going through this awful experience made me realise how important my job as a pet photographer is; that we freeze time, preserve precious moments and memories that become a permanent source of joy and in my case, healing too. I’m guessing that as you are here, your pet is just as much a loved and cherished family member as Digby was, and I would love to help you make some special memories with your precious pet.
